Watercolour Entomology, Botanical and Fauna Art

A little bit about me..

Based in North Norfolk in the UK, I started painting with watercolour and gouache in 2018. Inspired by the compilations of vintage natural history book plates and illustrations, I enjoy mixing curiosities and natural elements with a modern perspective. I’m captivated by the vibrant colours, striking patterns and symmetry found in nature, and particularly drawn to entomology.

I use watercolour, gouache and paper, along with many reference photos and a "wing it" method, in the hope of exhibiting the some of the most beautiful details of our wildlife and nature - I am always learning.

We are so lucky to have such a vast number of species and while populations are in decline, I hope my art encourages others to appreciate and admire the intricacies of our natural world, and it gives me so much pleasure to be painting them and inviting them into your homes.

To think that even if I painted an insect a day for the next 40 years I still would have only painted 1% of the (lower) estimated number of insects that inhabit earth.. isn't that wild!
